  • Prohormone/Prosteroid ban now imminent

Well looks like in a matter of months prohormones and prosteroids (don't know why they're pro as they don't convert, but oh well) will be classified as illegal Anabolic Steroids in Schedule III.

Here is a link to The United Supplement Freedom Association's page on it.

    http://www.usfa.biz/modules.php?op=m...rder=0&thold=0

After the bill is signed mere possession of 4AD will be considered an offense. No grace period like ephedra had.

I'm saddened to see the laws go this way. I had hopped that the AAS legislation would some day be removed, but this definately means the government is moving in the wrong direction on the legality issue of AAS.

Every one might as well brace themselves from the onslaught of newbies asking for sources. There are going to be a lot of people who will still want to run cycles that won't know what to do any more.

To think that I went clean for various reasons and had decided to use prohormones etc.. on occassion for little bumps in my training. Guess we all we have to go back to the old ways. Really smart on the governments part, morons will have everyone back on juice. Dont get me wrong I think aas are fine done in the right manner etc.. but now there will be no alternative for us. Peace, Love and Pickle juice....

    PD

I was also going to go on pro horomones and try to get away from juice awhile back but when I heard about the ban might be coming true I said to myself "if pro horomones are illegal then why take them when you can take aas and it be classified as the samething" I think this is the stupidist thing the law could do. They have ciggarettes and beer that kill more people in one day that steroids would kill in a year.

I think the AAS ban and the forth comming addition of legal anabolics to Schedule III is mostly driven by the profesional sports industry more so than actual health concerns. Profesional sports authorities have been upset with the legality of prohormones/prosteroids from the get go. Since they consider AAS usage to be cheating, any leagal means of aquiring AAS undermines their desire to keep their athletes from using AAS.

I don't think ASS were ever banned because of health or crime concerns by the originating legislators.

I'm hoping a "Personal Privacy Act" is passed some day which kicks the government (local, state, and federal) out of our personal lives in issues where there is no victum. If no one is getting hurt is it really a crime? None of us think you should serve time for using AAS. Should the state/local government's be able to dicate what you and your wife can legally do in the privacy of your own bedroom? I can't get over how we keep on losing our liberities while we supposedly live in the land of the free. :(

I hate to break it to you but in a lot of places ASS is illegal. :D It is called Sodomy laws. Minnesota and Texas come to mind as states that arrest if they find you doing anal sex.

I personally feel if my wife wants it in the ass that it is my responsibilty, no my duty as a red blooded American male to whip out the asstroglide.

I appologize if I offended anyone with the above statement, but I feel very strongly on the liberties issue and have a naturally dirty mind.

I say we start a petition!! I say all of us from Superior Muscle should all write something up and finalize it to one big petition signed, the same way we do a poll and send it to the government and see what happens! We should let them know that we are users and we dont die like the other drugs that are legal.

Sadly it is now too late for that. Prior to it getting this far I've written my Representative on this issue half a dozen times. He voted for the ban any ways. :(

The House and Senate have already approved this bill. The only person who can stop it now is the President and it is clear he will approve it. After all he signed new legislation this summer stiffening the penalties for AAS possession/use and declaired war on AAS.

I like the tough stance Bush has taken on terrorism and I think it is vitaly important we defend ourselves, but I wish the guy was more interested in preserving our personal freedoms. Now days only Libertarians seem to care about personal liberty. Conservatives and Liberals alike throw liberty out the window these days. This bill has had massive bipartison support.

Besides, I don't think there was ever any interest on part of congress to protect people with this bill. No one has died from prohormone/prosteroid use. It seems to have been driven by the profesional sports lobby which pushed the first AAS ban through roughly 20 years ago.

Besides proh/pros is going to be a crimal offence soon. Do you want to be sign a pettition saying you support commiting a crime and send it off to the government? The Freedom of Information Act makes those types of records public so local law enforcement could easily grab the list.

Yes I'm being paranoid, but in this bussiness discretion is the better part of valor I say. History rewards the bold? Sounds like a recipe for Butt Rape Prison to me. :(

Maybe we will be saved by red tape.

I've been talking this issue over with a friend who is an avant prohormone user and works for a law firm. He seems to think that the USFA is wrong in their assertion that the bill will become law in January.

                            Here's his reasoning:

                            1) The bill that the House passed was modified by the Senate prior to the Senate voting on it.

This technically means the House and Senate both overwhelming voted to ban prohormones, but they both passed different bills.

                            2) The two bills must first be reconciled and if it is decided to keep either the House or the Senate version, the other body of congress must revote on it.

                            3) If they reconcile the differences of the 2 bills by creating a 3rd bill, both houses of Congress must revote on it.

                            4) The congressional year is nearly over. Once the congressional year ends the bills die and must be reintroduced to the new Congress.

Now I'll point out that I do not know the congressional process well enough to state that the above is correct. It sounds reasonable and if true then the Senator that added pork to this bill has bought us some more time. :) Senators are very devous, the pork could have been an intentional effort to kill the bill w/o having to vote no on it.

One thing that is frightening is that this bill has been floating around the Congress for a few years now. Each year it gets closer to becoming law. If it fails this year and the pattern continues it will likely become law in 2005.

I'm still watching the issue closely.
