  • My Adequan use

I posted this on Promuscle but figured you guys might be interested as well:

    1) I have been using adequan for the last 3 weeks - 200mg every 5 days
    2) Dosing is anywhere from 2 to 4 mg/kg of body weight - many articles in the veterinary literature on that.
    3) Adequan is the same drug as Arteparon which is approved in europe for human use - polysulfated glucosaminoglycan (PSGAG)
    4) Adequan helps with CARTILAGE damage - it DOES NOT - I repeat DOES NOT - directly help with ligament or tendon damage (e.g. tendonitis)
    5) My joints are feeling progressively better, mostly my shoulders and knees. I believe it is healing me, but it could also be an increase in synovial fluid in the joints as adequan dose promote that as well.
    6) The equine and canine versions are identical, just sold differently, canine says 100mg/ml, equine says 500mg/5ml..... duh they are both 100mg/ml.
    7) Typical dosing regime in animals (horses) is 28 days (they shoot all 500mg at once, and do it once a week)
    8) Adequan is intramuscular - not intraarticular, thank god
    9) Despite this, there is anecdotal evidence that IM injections closer to the joint may work better - although most of the effect is systemic, I suppose some local effects may occur (like thru the lymphatic fluid transport, etc - I'm guessing here)
    10) I have been using this with GH (3IU ED), thats it, no AAS at present.

    I hope this helps.

DGB - thx for the update.

Hey - on a scale of 1 - 10, how bad was your pain to begin with and how bad is the pain now?

Also, have you noticed any side effects?

Pain was probably 7 out of 10 in shoulders, and 6 out of 10 in knees (mostly right). Sometimes tho, it would get worse, and at its worst, the shoulder pain would keep me from sleeping or I'd wake up because of the pain of having laid on my side. My biggest issue was that it was chronic - meaning I always had it, day, night, days off not training, basically all the time to some extent. Just got use to pain, but it always sucked. Now it is considerably less, and since nothing has changed (not my workout or my diet) I have to believe that it is working. I have no idea how long lasting the results will be - guess we'll have to wait and see.

As for side effects, what I have noticed are foamy piss and injection site soreness (this stuff is in a sodium chloride solution and it leaves a knot in the muscle every time). Both have been temporary sides and have subsided after a couple days following the injection. Thats about it though for visible side effects - have no idea if it has affected blood chemistry, etc...

Well after about a month off of Adequan, my shoulder joints are somewhat better than before. Not a 100% but better nonetheless. My conclusion is that it helps but I don't think it is a miracle drug. Also I have notice a little more stiffness in my joints than before use (not sure why that is), so I need to warm up well before going to heavier weights.

Otherwise, no longer term effects from what I can tell.

PS: Also had bloodwork done recently and it was PERFECT, so no apparent impact from my dosing schedule on lipid profiles, rbc, etc.

there is a difference between the canine and equine -- the equine is meant to be used all at once and has no ba. the canine is mulit-dose and has ba.
