Stir plate?

Sup guys! I need help finding a good replacement for a stir plate if there is anything that works just as well, I looked it up and these stri plates are very expensive, do you guys have any suggestions? Can I use a hot plate instead?

You can make one yourself with Lego or Fisher Technics. You just make a receiver for a flask and a rotating magnet underneath it.
