  • Are ACE inhibitors bad for muscle gains?

I've been fighting it for 2 years now, but it looks like I will have to go on a BP medication. My doctor has prescribed Lisinopril, an ACE inhibitor.

Of course I don't want to take anything that can make my up hill battle to put on muscle a harder battle.

Now doing some research on the Internet seems to suggest that Angiotensin II plays some role in muscle growth. It's not clear to me exactly how it works or if it is significant enough for me to worry about.

What bodybuilding friendly BP treatment options are available for a guy these days?

I believe that ACE inhibitors work with the kidneys to decrease soduim and lower water retention to decrease BP. It shouldn't effect muscle growth and shouldn't harm the kidneys in any way.
