Bros, I noticed my hair line getting higher after my Test cycle. What can be taken/done to protect your hair during a very androgenic cycle like Test?

What has worked for me and many people I know is:
1 mg Propecia ED (oral) + 5% monoxidil (topical) + nizoral shampoo EOD.
Even better, if you can get Avodart (Dutasteride) instead of Propecia you can get by with 0.5mg ED. Duta acts pharmacologically on type I 5-alpha reductase and also type II whereas Finasteride only deals with type II inhibition.
hope this helps,
DrG

Propecia works very well. Get your doc to give you a script for Proscar though, not Propecia. Cut the Proscar into quarters, and you now have tablets that are about the same (.25mg stronger actually) as Propecia for about a third of the price.

What about with dutasteride? Think a doc would prescribe it for keeping body acne and body hair growth down along with hair loss? Or are you doomed to being anally probed?Originally posted by YellowJacket
Good luck getting Proscar without a prostate exam, or a doctor you're very good friends with.

It might, but not guaranteed. Our brother yj hasn't been having much luck with his stuff so not everyone is the same.Originally posted by GreekTank
So basically, If I could get a hold of propecia, it will protect my hair during cycles? question what sides does this med have?

I use a pill-cutter to cut the pentagon-like tab down it's length in to halves. Then, I use my fingers to snap the halves into quarters (they break pretty darned evenly every time). Simple as that. Oh, and getting a doc to prescribe it isn't all that hard, seeing as how they know better than anyone that Propecia and Proscar are the exact same drug. Explain the cost benefit, and it should be no problem. The only way I can say a doc saying no is if you were trying to get the drug using a plan, or if the guy is really an anal sob.

Then you dont know many doctors. Like I said, the cost benefit to you is irrelevant to the doctor, unless youre on very good terms with him. It is VERY dangerous for him or her to prescribe Proscar for hairloss, seeing as how he can not guarantee you will not take the entire tablet, basically, his or her job is on the line. More often than not, you're not getting Proscar.
