Short acting types such as Humalin-R for example are usually the better choice.

humalog is the fastest in and out. humulin-R is active about 3 hours longer. your best bet would be humalog for safty. i perfer humulin-r cause i can get in that extra meal in that 3 hour window.

well Insulin isnt really safe no matter what kind your using. Humalog will hit you about 10-15 minutes after the shot. Make sure you consume carbs and protein immediatly.

IT does hit you faster, but its duration is shorter, making it more safe IMO.
