Prednisone???

Ive done a few different cycles but I am currently off. I went to dermatologist for a skin condition and he prescribed Prednisone (an oral steroid) @ 60mgs a day. This stuff has me eating like crazy, almost like when I am on. Anyone ever heard of this stuff? Is it anabolic? I might gain afew LBs on this :D

Yea, or lose a few pounds as Prednisone is a corticosteroid.

what is a corticosteroid. Dont think I have lost any weight, but I really have had a noticeable increase in my appetite

yes,corticosteroids are the opposite of anabolic steroids.one reason why you lose muscle after a cycle.these are not anabolic nor will they increase athletic performance.btw 60mg sound high.good luck!

they will also make your bones brittle when used for long or repetitive periods. i agree with YJ 60 mgs is ALOT. one of my pitbulls has a skin condition and he only takes 5mgs a day. be careful bro.

I am only on them for 10 days. I got some kind of poison something all over me, so I guess a large dose was needed. Thanks for the input.

Don't stress xxtremez, you're not going to lose significant muscle in only ten days. Follow your doc's orders and take your meds.

When I was younger (4-6 years old) I was prescribed this for my asthma. It made me fat!!! Doctors also told my parents not to allow me to play any contact sports due to the fact the prednisone made my bones weaker.

I have to give that stuff to my dogs for their dry skin conditions. The've been itching like mad this year. I give them 5mg every other day. One thing that I've noticed though- although both dogs are house trained, one of them occasionally loses bladder control if not let out somewhat frequently. The vet said that this can be a side effect that doesn't affect all dogs the same.

call your doctor back - I highly advise against prednisone - call an orthopedic and they will inform your of the risks of avn (avascular necriosis)

So glad I found this thread.... I havent started, and dont know much. Someone had told me they had prednisone if I wanted it, I said no because I didnt know anything about it. Glad I didnt.

Long term use is NOT good idea,, Prednisone will make bones fragile.

I recently started prednisone 20mg medication to treat my arthritis. Ofcourse, Prednisone is a corticosteroid drug and used to treat different conditions such as allergic disorders, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, psoriasis, skin problems and Addison's disease.
