prolactin causes??

does anyone have a definitive answer why some of us get latation when we are on?

I have been told that this is only from prolactin and that is only produced in the pituitary or tumors.

what would cause the pituitary to increase prolactin??

Could be a number of things: main disease causes of increase in prolactin (hyperprolactinemia) are pituitary adenomas; other causes could be any kind of tumour of the pituitary or hypothalamus or reduced levels of dopamine from the hypothalamus, which usually suppresses prolactin production.

I realize that in the disease area - jason giambi has the prolactinoma pituitary tumor - but what is the actual mechanism during aas use that causes this?

I have not been able to find anythign concrete on what causes the pituitary to increase the prolactin in some? of does it not increase it - maybe its just enough in some of us naturally that when estrogen goes up - it happens???

Well, as far as I know, when oestrogen and testosterone go up it has a negative feedback effect on the hypothalamic-pituitary axis, thereby suppressing this axis. Since dopamine from the hypothalamus to pituitary will usually suppress pituitary production of prolactin, the effect of the inhibition of this axis is to disinhibit the pituitary production of prolactin, hence it increases.
