  • Thyroid Question....

I had Papillary Thyroid Cancer about 5 years ago and had to have my thyroid removed. I now am on Levoxyl for the rest of my life, the question is there any benefits of taking more or less of the prescirbed dose in effect to my working out? and are there any effects of of using M1T? I was going to do a cycle of it in a month or so and wanted to know what the effects may be.

I'm 33, have been training for 18 years and have done 2 AAS cycles when I was in my early 20s. Currently, 6'2" 218

My friend takes m1t and he has thyroid issues but didnt have what you had. He has hypothyroid. I wouldnt say yes or no, but I would say ask your dr.

You wouldn't want to take less than your recommended dosage because you will run into all sorts of hypothroid issues, namely fat gain and energy/endurance loss. I would also suggest that this will result in some catabolism of lean muscle mass as the body would likely disassemble muscle for energy over any fat, especially since you will probably not be working out as much due to decreased energy levels. Always trying to find a constant state of equilibrium, your body will have less need for carrying around as much muscle mass. I have some extensive experience in these matters due to being on levothroid/synthroid/levothyroxine for approximately 20 years now. I have had some fairly recent issues with low thyroid levels and fat gain/muscle loss. Believe me, it sucks bigtime. Another recent link to hypothyroidism to watch for is a spike in your cholesterol levels. Without a drastic change in diet, mine had jumped from 180 to 262 in just a few short months. Only in the past month or so have medical studies found a correlation between hypothyroidism and high cholesterol levels.

The best thing that you can do is to get a full blood workup done and check your thyroid levels with that of the reference values listed. Prior to any bloodwork, be sure to maintain your prescribed dose of whatever thyroid meds you're supposed to be taking for a few weeks. You need an accurate baseline to compare future thyroid levels. This also ties in with any cholesterol level spikes that you might encounter.

I had seen great gains both naturally and with 1AD/4AD & M1T/4AD cycles. When my thyroid medicine started to become ineffective (for unknown medical reasons it wasn't absorbing properly for a period of time), you will not get gains but in fact start to lose them. As long as your meds are taken and you're within your reference levels, it would be unwise to start self-adjusting your dosages. Too much thyroid meds can cause heart palpitations, dizziness, precipitate a heart storm or even kill you, depending on the amount you take- not to mention speed up your metabolism which could affect your hard fought gains. Remember, the meds are only supposed to bring your T3 levels to that of a normal healthy human. Outside of that, your progress in gains or cutting is up to your diet, rest and exercise patterns. I hope this stuff helps you out.

Thanks PI for all the information. I'll just try to keep the T3 levels with the normal range. Didn't know that missing a dose here and there may be affecting my gains in the gym.

            I appreciate the response.

Ok but here's a question, I've been on Levoxyl for a while now and my big question is will taking more have any benefits? I'm kind of on the low dose like .25mg a day. I found out like 6 months ago I had hypothyroidism and now I'm kind of curious as to if I can use it to cut as well or instead of using Cytomel or something else.
