  • Testosterone to epitesosterone

There was an article on ESPN.com about the NFL's drug policy. One of the things it mentioned were that they will be lowering the acceptable ratio from 6 to 1 down to 4 to 1. Shouldnt a healthy male, without any outsides androgens have a 1 to 1 ration. Thought some of you might be able to elaborate.

Epitestosterone is naturally occuring and it's found in the urine. Not sure what the ratio is, but when testosterone is supplmented, epitesterone increases dramatically. It stays up for quite some time too, so even though you used a test ester that is short, it can still be detected for quite some time after it should be cleared the system.

I believe that test and epitest are produced in a 1:1 ratio naturally. Exogenous test has no epitest in it so if you are supplementing, your test to epitest ratio will be higher than 1:1. Allowing a 4:1 or 6:1 ratio is just kind of a safety net to take into account room for error in the testing. If you take a shot of test and then get tested in a week, your ratio will be hundreds to one.
