If you are asking if concentric left ventricular hypertrophy has been linked to cardiac arrest/failure, absolutely. This one form of heart disease.

It can be linked to Acute myocardial infarction, or heart attacks in lamen's terms. Hypertrophy related to vigorous exercise may not have a direct link, becaues the heart is a muscle and can become enlarged simply by lifting and exercising, but hypertrophy caused by cholesterol, which then leads to blood pressure issues can most certainly lead to an acute MI, then possibly cardiac death. There is generally much more going on than simply hypertrophy. For instance, there may be a medical Hx that has lead to this, like a bundle branch/clogged artery. A bundle branch is read from an ECG and is an indication of a clogged artery.
