coffie filter?

hey so i was going through i believe basskillers method of fina conversion, and he doesnt use a coffie filter in his pictures/instructions? why is that i saw the filter which goes on syrenge but no coffie filter he basically mixed the pellets with the solution then mixed oil then next day used filter through syrenge

if you use a whatman .45 micron filter you dont need the coffee filter.
