  • Moved: What to do while recovering from hernia

Well I recently discovered I have a hernia. Its called an umbilical hernia and its located on side of bellybutton. I am pretty bummed cause I have to get surgery and have mesh put in and have it closed up. My training was just starting to show some results and my diet has improved dramaticly since I learned bout SB diet. I am wondering what I could do to not lose my progress while waiting for recovery of surgery. I have put on some extra weight lately so I am thinking since I cant lift maybe I could cut. Anyone have any tips? Would clen/t3 be safe to use after a minor surgery as such. I would really like to gain some definition. What about aas? wich I stopped because I wasnt sure what to do. something to speed recovery? Just dont want to lose my lean muscle.just shed fat. Any and all info-opinions would be greatly appreciated thnx

sorry bout the double post but I
moved it here because questions related to anabolics

I'm no expert on T3 or clen, but I do know that after surgery of any kind your body is in shock from getting cut open and it's going to need all the rest and nutrients you can give it. I wouldn't be messing around with your thryoid post surgery for that reason and I wouldn't recommend using clen either because of the increased temp and heart rate/metabolism. I'd just let your body recover fully and eat well and hopefully you won't be out too long.

I guess I should just eat extra clean. I hope I dont lose too much but Im hoping for a speedy recovery. Doc says I could be out for 4-6 weeks at least. Prolly will wait 2 months just to make sure. My thinking must of been clouded thinking of Diuretics asfter a surgery. Maybe ill just do some cardio after a month. And work my way back to lifting and cut a little while waiting to lift again. Damn it just seems long and I want to keep training so bad . Well I am getting surgery next week. Went to a second surgeon today and got a second oponion. Looks like I am getting a mesh patch put in. I would still like to hear from others if they have any tips. Or think something could help me along the way.

T3 would not be a good idea: it cannibalizes muscle if not used alongside AAS, which could jeopardize the healing of the abdominal muscle being cut for the operation.

Rest up and try not to think about it. Keep your diet clean and get what exercise you can without hurting yourself.

Unfortunately, lifting is out for a long time. It is probably unavoidable that you will lose some or even all your gains; bad luck. There isn't any help for it though. If you try and lift, you will only injure yourself even worse and you will still lose it.

Just concentrate on healing and come back (when fully healed) and get it back. I would always be leary of things like deads and squats from now on though. Once you have a hernea, it is easier to get another and it will be even worse than this one.

Just keep your protein intake up. I personally wouldn't do shit after a hernia operation. I speak from experience. You dont realize how much your core comes into play with everything you do until after you've had a hernia. You will be in pain. It took me a month to just walk on the treadmill (I probably could've curled light weights if I wanted too).
I had an inginual hernia (intestines dropped down into my nutsack) and they did my operation old school style, slice and sew.
just rest and dont eat too much.
