1st Fina Conversion

In the process of doing my first fina conversion. My concern is that after the pellets dissolved, the solution didn't appear as dark as some of the examples i've seen around the net. I did not get the dark brown syrupy (if thats a word) look after letting it sit 24hrs. It was more of a reddish-brown. I proceeded with the conversion and added the oil, shook it up, put it in the hot water and now its settlling for the next 8 to 12 hrs. It doesn't look like its going to be as dark as some of the examples. Is this common or did I do something wrong? I will say this. I received my 4g kit some time ago and just stored it, maybe 6 months. Could my "magic solution" have weakend or something? Your input is welcomed.
