  • New lifts massive sleep

I just switched from HIT training to hvy wgt low rep training and now I can't stop sleeping, I get 7-8 hrs of rest at nite then nap for another 3-4 later when I get home... I've done HIT training varied now for over 2 yrs straight and since the switch I'm just dead tired, not sick, but I just feel my body's energy is elsewhere. I posted this here since I believe the tren would give me a lil more pick me up but wow I would have never thought switching lifts would do this to me...
Mods if you want move this to the training section but I also started tren at the same time have done before but don't think tren is causing this

Try switching to EOD workouts until your body stabilizes. Your experiencing CNS ( central nervous system ) shock, which is very common when changin from one extreme style of training to another. Basically your body has not adapted to the new form of training yet. Give it time and it will become easier.

Talk bout shock, I'm spending less time in the gym with less sets less reps but more wgt, i feel latent soreness now, ahh I guess I should have switched my workouts up long time ago. For cns shock can you trick the body and force it to homeostasis quicker?

I had the same reaction - it's been almost 2 months since I changed and I am just now running off 8 hours of sleep. Your body is probably not fully recharging if you are that tired bro. I don't think mine was. I had to go with and EOD schedule until I got used to it. Sometimes I even took 3 days off if I needed to.

i like to change it up from workout to workout, some are against it but i like doing it to keep my body guessing. i am currently running 2 on 1 off trying to go over 278. i am at around 245 right now and i havent started anything other than some test for a front loader. i will post my cycle later.

you got to understand that sleep is critical for growth, were not like the norms out there, we lift heavy, so your body needs that rest(naps) for growth to breakdown previously eaten food for the muscles.

rest and nutrition are about 80% bodybuilding but at the same time the body only needs about 10 hours of sleep a day max. there is definately a such a thing as oversleeping and that could possiblely be what is making you feel this way. or even the type of gear you are on. i dont think it is your trainning but you may want to re evaluate your whole program and find out what is causing it. you seem like a vet at this game and pretty intelligent so re evaluate and let us know

It is not hundering your gains... while temporarily you are experiencing overtraining, you body is now forced to once again try to reach homeostasis, thus making your workouts more effective.

I completely switch training regimes every 3 months...

Yah I've been doin the gear thing for 8 yrs now and recently switched workouts, I'm starting to feel better but still like I need more sleep than normal, plus my wgt is going thru the roof and my diet is intact, Work stress gets to me but I'm trying my hardest to separate my priorities. I tend to push too much but I need to learn that rest is ok
