I need a little help understanding the benefits and consequences of being on AAS year round. I know most of the pro bb'rs use juice year round, but how do they do it? Are they running the risk of being dependent on it for the rest of their lives? The reason I ask is simply this. Whenever I'm on gear, as you all know....I feel like the "KING OF THE WORLD" (in a Leonardo Dicaprio titanic yell) :) I look amazing, and I can practically eat anything I want and maintain a monster lean physique. Then, I come off, and my lifts go down, my size drops, and my overall body comp changes from beast to blah. Then I was thinking if instead of coming off competely I would just do a weekly "maintanence dose" to keep my edge. What are everyones thoughts...especially Bouncer whom I know has done it year round. Thanks bros!

Num1son is a big fan of running all year too.
All I can say is that if everything goes so bad when you come off then you may have 2 issues
1. Your diet, training and PCT may not be where they need to be when you come off.
2. You are mentally addicted to the euphoria of AAS and the way you "think" you are different when using.

well i stayed on for about 3 years with only coming off here and there. longest on was a little over 12 months. for me the sides really start kickin in when i get to 4 plus months. acne got way out of control and my mood swings started gettin bad. if i stay under 4 months i'm good. now when i came off i was maintaining a good amount of strength and my weight actually stayed the same. gained a little fat, lost some muscle stayed same weigth. as time went on it did keep going that way, body comp kept changing but i also stopped eating good and had surgery and couldn't lift so i really don't know what would have stayed with me. one thing that sucked ass was my libido. i had no problems gettin it up, i just had NOOOO desire. blood work showed test levels were in the low 200's. took me 8 months before i was back to normal. test levels went back to 686. so looking back i won't do that anymore. 4 month cycles for me and thats it. it was very easy to get mentally addicted to juice, especially since i was so small all my life. i was too afraid to go back to being small, you just gotta remember if u do lose that much ur doing something wrong.

I only lost about 6 lbs. after coming off a cycle of test prop/tren/winny for 14 weeks, so as far as size...no I'm still big but I'm flat...not full and solid. As far as strength loss....not as bad as I made it all sound....I guess I'm just "mentally addicted" to the state of mind, and the enhanced body componsition while on. I too notice the mood swings towards the last couple weeks of my cycles, so I couldn't imagine being on much longer than 12-14 weeks. My PCT is as basic as most. I ran HCG weeks 6-13 @ 250 I.U.'s twice a week, and then began nolvadex, and clomid 3 days after my last shot in the following dose schedule:Originally posted by wheymanI see no reason to stay on year around unless you are seriously competing. You shouldn't be losing your gains that much if your diet and pct are correct.
WK 1
Nolva 60 mg ED
Clomid 150 ED
WK 2
Nolva 40 mg ED
Clomid 100 mg ED
WK 3
Nolva 20mg ED
Clomid 50 mg ED
WK 4-5
Nolva 20-10mg ED
I don't have the signs of low test levels, my balls are actually back to normal size, and my appetite for sex hasn't changed so all in all with only losing 6 of the 25 lbs. I gained....I think I did everything right.

Well in that case - look around some. I can't find all the posts but there are several studies on here that talk about the benefits/consequences of short term and long term (year round etc) use. There was one thread that got bumped just a few weeks ago on this exact same topic.
As far as feeling flat - work on your diet.
As for the "mental addiction" - you'll just have to work through that if it's something that you really struggle with.
Num1son says he has a study on year-round cycles. Hit him up for it... here's the post he was talking about it in - http://www.superiormuscle.com/vbulle...highlight=yearLast edited by coffee-guy; 09-12-05, 11:57 AM.

That euphoric feeling is addictive, I've done short and long cycles and seem to keep my gains better on longer cycles, its almost as if my body gets used to the wgt and doesnt fight it when I taper down. Its like crash dieting once the crash diet is over u gain wgt back fast if u diet slow and steady u r less likely to gain the wgt back quickly, i think bulking is the same way.Originally posted by fog_hat1981Num1son is a big fan of running all year too.

Yes only be year round on or 75%+ if you are competing the added systemic stress isn't worth vanity(it may be for some) but for most competing takes something more. something on the boarderline of sick, do you got what it takes to take it further than the guy who is gonna be next to u on stage

Just a quick side note... during the times I am off I run clen to take advantage of the anticatabolic properties, so yeah something is in my system all the time. Make sure if you do run all year or 75%+ you get your blood checked by a trusted doc that u can be honest with every 3 months
also find a pharmacy supply shop and order the urine multistips, they check for base detection of problems, ketons urobilingen(sp) blood sugar all sorts of good things which will help you taper your water intake and diet to ensure safety. Its only a monitoring system not a full detection system so it should never be your only source of detection
