  • Sleeping pills

Anyone have any issues with sleeping pills and aas usage, I only take half a tab OTC sleeping pills(maybe once twice a week) and I swear it takes me so long to feel up to par the next day. In pharmacological sense I'm takin half the dose amount of a 150lb person so in essence i'm really only takin around 30% for someone my wgt, I realize the synergistic effect of depressants and stimulants but depressants and aas. My metabolic processes are quite fast so I'm really unsure how the two would interact, but I can tell u that yrs ago i could take more sleeping pills and have less lag the next day.
any one else have this issue?

First of all, what are you taking? OTC sleeping pills are usually just Benadryl. It works for 6 hours and sure, it will make you feel like you had a drug induced sleep alot of times. It's not quality sleep.

I have taken Ambien before and I haven't come up with a conclusion if I liked it or not. I would take it, then feel like I was high on a narcotic for a breif period before getting sleepy, then sleep well. I would wake up without a problem, but still felt a little sluggish.

Num1-you've had blood work done before right? Do you remember if they did a thyroid test?

When it comes to sleeping problems and/or sleeping aids, I can help you out for sure. I went through a period of years with sleeping problems. I wrote this at FG, check it out if you can.

Is your mind "SpeedY' most of the time? If so, at what times does it happen more often?
Yah the good ole brain is always goin at 150+mph all the time even when i sleep my dreams are often quick paced and nasty, my doc always thought that my mind needed constant attn due to my higher IQ, that I have free memory that always needs to be stimulated. Im never manic or suffer mania but somedays I will just crash usually once a month and sleep 12-14 hrs straight, I kinda think of that as my brain telling me to give it a rest

Those MENSA people can shove it hahaha... in a way though I've grown so used to being a quick thinker it always gives me an edge with people esp now that I'm in the business world, allows me to back people into corners and maintain control, so I guess I have embraced it more than fight it

Do you sleep better off cycle compared to on? I noticed as soon as I start my cycles insomnia kicks in. Even on just test cycles. I went to see a doctor about it but nothing was ever resolved. They tried to give me medication (ambien) but even that didn't help. So I have learned to deal with it. Some days are better then others. It just sucks lying in bed at 1:00 in the morning with your mind going a million miles an hour.

I would say all the stress you're going through would be the issue here. go get checked up with a psych dr to see if they can help.

I think most of us are quick thinkers, but all of us are not having sleeping problems. STRESS will do it.

Wish you best of luck on finding your issue out. I know it sucks when you can't sleep well.
I thought so too, I did a lot of research on the correlations of IQ and sleep issues there is some but it also has the factor of stress and stress recognition. I always assumed it to be my stress and most likely it is just that I just need a lil extra to get me over this hump.
                thanks rado for the imput
