Growth Hormone Testing?

Okay, I have used the "search" button and had no luck. If this question has been asked already, just point me in the right direction to that thread.

A friend of mine is a pro cage fighter and has been taking GH (Jinotropin) and just heard that there may be a test for GH. To say the least, he's nervous.

QUESTION: Is there a test for detecting Growth Hormone? IF so, how long does Growth Hormone stay in the system where it is detectable? If there is a test, is it cheap enough for sport commissions like UFC to afford it and be able to test each competitor?

I imagine there might be some type of test out there but I don't think it is in commercial use. GH's half life is very short and for just a sport like that it would be a waste of money.

I'm certainly no anabolics expert but my understanding is that the fact that there is not test currently was one of the big problems with the olympics. They are certain that a lot of olympic athletes are taking GH, but because it's a natural substance in your body they can't tell if someone is supplementing or just has naturally high levels of GH. I've heard time and time again from reliable sports medicine doctors and the like that there is no known test for GH. Your friend should be fine bro...

the only test is through a blood test. the NFL tests for it but, basesball does not they only test piss.

BBAddict: Yes it is natural in the human body and GH use to be taken from cadavors, but since it is now synthetic, this was where the problem lied.

I thought there was no way to detect gh since all it is, is a bunch of amino acids. However the doping commitee was saying that to scare the olympic athletes this year. Guess this is where you hate the advancements in technology. LOL.

I think they can detect it, it's just so expensive they don't test everyone. they say they do to scare them. But if all of a sudden that are crazy results like that swiming team from China that year they will really test you.

Also my buddy is in the CDN MIlitary and they do drug tests, he said that they only proceed with a small amount of actual tests because of the cost.

a test to see if its real or not? otc pregnancy test...put a sample of your gh on the sample site of a home pregnancy test kit...if it's fake it'll turn the test sample positive and you've been had with hcg.
