  • HCG and zits

My wife and I are trying to have a kid. I had the ole' sperm count thing done and it came back showing my count was low but not devestated. This surprised me because I've been using gear for 18+ years and the last six with little or no time off. ANYWAY... my doctor prescribed hcg for me and to take the whole 10,000 units in a week for two weeks, then drop it down to 5000 for four weeks. Well, I have been breaking out like a mad man. I got pimples on the top of my head for Christ's sake! LOL! Anyway, I have some nolvadex that was prescribed also but I wasn't going to take it unless I started to get some nipple soreness. Do you think that this would cut out some of the pimple side effects?

One more thing... is hcg supposed to increase your sex drive? I have none. My wife has to twist my arm to get up to the bedroom(this is very unusual for me), but once I'm up there I'm fine.

    Thanks for your help!

HCG makes your oo's go back to the normal size. I thought they prescribe Proviron for the low sperm count. Not sure though

Nolva is only good for bloating and preventative against gyno. It's not going to help with the zits. You may want to ask your doctor for some prescription acne wash or medicine like accutane for it. As for the sex-drive issue, maybe someone else on here can give you the technical breakdown on that problem.

For male and female bodybuilders, how-ever, it is a very useful and recommended compound which is con-firmed by its widespread use and mostly positive results. Nolvadex belongs to the group of sex hormones and is a so-called antiestrogen. The normal application of Nolvadex is in the treatment of certain forms of breast cancer in female patients. With Nolvadex it is pos-sible to reverse an existing growth process of deceased tissue and prevent further growth. The growth of certain tissues is stimulated by the body's own estrogen hormone. This is especially true for the breast glands in men and women since the body has a large number of estrogen receptors at these glands which can bond with the estro-gens present in the blood. If the body's own estrogen level is unusu-ally high an undesired growth of breast glands occurs. However, in healthy women and particularly in men this is not the case. Despite this, it is mostly male bodybuilders who use Nolvadex, and fewer women. Since most steroids aromatize more or less strongly, i.e. part of the substance is converted into estrogens, male bodybuilders can experience a sig-nificant elevation in the normally very low estrogen level. This can lead to feminization symptoms such as gynecomastia (growth of breast glands), increased fat deposits and higher water retention.

The antiestrogen Nolvadex works against this by blocking the es-trogen receptors of the effected body tissue, thereby inhibiting a bonding of estrogens and receptor. It is, however, important to un-derstand that Nolvadex does not prevent the aromatization but only acts as an estrogen antagonist. This means that it does not prevent testosterone and its synthetic derivatives (steroids) from converting into estrogens but only fights with them in a sort of "competition" for the estrogen receptors. This characteristic has the disadvantage that after the discontinuance of Nolvadex a "rebound effect" can occur which means that the suddenly freed estrogen receptors are now able to absorb the estrogen present in the blood. For this reason the combined intake of Proviron is suggested (see Proviron.) Nolvadex is also useful during a diet since it helps in the burning of fat. Al-though Nolvadex has no direct fatburning effect its antiestrogenic effect contributes to keeping the estrogen level as low as possible. Athletes who have a tendency to retain water and who have a mammary dysfunction should take Nolvadex as a prevention during every steroid intake.

I'm surprised that the doc didn't have you run Clomid as well, as it is known to increase sperm production.

If I were you, I'd run Nolva throughout the course of HCG: taking large doses of HCG (greater than one would experience naturally) can desensitize your body to HCG, which would be a very bad thing. Taking Nolva helps minimize this effect.

Have you gotton a second opinion? that is a lot of HCG to be running, enought that it could be toxic (see the post on swales PCT). at any rate he should have put you one nolvadex to start with as high doses of HCG are known to cause gyno. keep in mind that an AI will not work here, you need nolvadex or the like.

There's consequences to everything that we do.
Thanks for trying to help but let me clear somethings up I am Rhino's wife and I am a nurse. I have seen women get pregnant on gear I also have seen and know guys who have gotten their women pregnant on copious amount of gear getting ready for major competitions. Rhino is 38 and I am 34 a males sperm production starts to decline naturally at approximatly 30 years of age. He was not that low so he did not need clomid he actually is producing sperm the HCG which is no were near toxic dosages is to kick his system up and make him more like a teen ager with his count you see he is not he infertile one I am. Yes we have seen and have another doc on the case as well. I am taking the clomid and HCG and next we have to see if I have produced eggs and hopefully I have the idea here being it takes 70 days to mature sperm and hopefully I will by then either produce enough eggs they can drill them out or I will drop them on my own.
He was asking if any of you had experienced zits. You see he has never broke out like this. acutane is contraindicated they will not give it to you if their is a chance of pregnancy because the birth defects are so severe. We make teens take birth control when on acutane. I have tried to tell him it is hormonal not much can be done about that. He was put on nolvadex he just is a big baby (HAHA) but seriously he has been on for a long time and yet we keep a close eye on him and he is healthy liver enzymes look good.
Just a note the doc who is running the show has used this same treatment for several men who have had zero sperm count after stoping gear and now all have children.
sorry for my spelling it is true I cant spell and my punctuation is horrible (should have been a doctor) but you get the point.

What's his sperm count then? We all produce sperm(unless impotent)just not as strong sometimes. I know the older you get the lower your sperm gets. It's a complicated thing on getting pregnant; most of it has to do with the woman, not necessarily the guy.
Actually acording to the PDR at work the dosage of HCG is recomended. In fact the next recomended dose for me is exactly what he is takeing.

No impotance means you cant get it up. You can have low or no sperm count and still be a bunny in the bed room. There are men who have no sperm count because they have too much estrogen naturally just as women who have PCOS have to much testosterone naturally. You are right pregnancy is so tricky and not one person has the same experience as for women being the main cause that is a miss nomer as well 50% of all infertile couples are because both parties are. Now granted I am not a L&D nurse I have no interest but I a sure you that the HCG is not harmful at this dose.

This is me, Rhino. My wife had to go to work. It's funny reading what the both of you are posting. Lot's of good info at both ends. I can just imagine the conversation if you were both together. LOL.

I actually don't know the exact count. My doctor said it wasn't bad compared to other lifters who had the same usage of gear. Matter of fact i think he was surprised how high it was considering. The test was done a few months ago at a lab associated with one of the local hospitals. If you read my original post, I'm only taking the hcg for 6 total weeks. I was prescribed tamoxifen but chose not to take it. I have recently started taking it hoping it would curtail my acne problem.

So you don't remember your count then? Once you get below a certain level, the only way to have a baby is via invitro.
Are you a physician??????? if you are not you can not diagnose. Our doctor is a good friend and has been successful with men who were told by fertility specialist they could do nothing point in case I know of one who litterally had a count of zero and now with my doctors help has a son. just goes to show you may be miss led with your information. So now do you think we need invitro???????????? As for the exact number when we discussed it he never gave the number but I trust him he is a good friend and wants this for us and will do what ever is needed even if that mean sending us to someone else.

BACK TO ZITS THAT WAS THE ORIGINAL QUESTION.
