Now, I guess its possible I live in a tunnel or something, and I just don't see what is going on around me. However, I find this stat almost impossible to believe:
Most experts estimate that 5 to 6% of the total population of high school students has abused steroids. That’s about 1 million of our children each year. And abusers are not all male athletes

Did you know anyone in HS taking steroids? I knew one guy, it was totally obvious, and that's in in my entire HS (of about 2000 students). Now, I realize that this was 10 years ago, but your telling me that I could now walk into the HS across the street from me, and out of 100 kids (of which 50 are going to be women) 5 or 6 of them are going to be or has been on steroids?
Shit, I go to a hard core muscle gym, know tons of people on steroids, and honestly, if I wanted to buy juice tommorow, I don't know where I would get it (and have it tommorow). I am sure I could ask someone there and find a source, but where in the hell are these kids getting this stuff? I KNOW nobody I know would sell this shit to teenage HS kids (espcially girls) so where is it coming from?
I don't know, this number just seems almost impossible to rationalize to me. What are the usage numbers for the country as a whole? Or for the population from 18-35 years old? I can't imagine 5-6%? That would put steroid use way higher then cocaine, heroin, and most other rec drugs (not pot). I probably only really know about 25 people using steroids, where the hell are the rest of them?
And, if this is the case (that 5% of the US is juicing) where are the bodies? That's millions of people, where are all the deaths; we should be seeing them in every hospital every day with that kind of usage.
