  • hypothetical question - gear and diet

Is it possible for a person to eat x number of calories a day while off, EXACTLY his caloric requirement for maintenance, add AAS, and gain weight, holding everything else constant?

I have what I think is in answer, and my reason, but I wanted to see what everyone thinks

    :hmmm:

I would think is is possible depending on your body fat and how big you are naturally. gains would most likely not be nearly as much though. I say this because I would assume you would be lifting more, burning more calories, etc. IMO you would fall below maintaining. I have nothing to back this up with though, just my thoughts.

I would guess so too. You may harden, strengthen up a bit.

I would think that with AAS increasing the rates of nitrogention retention and protein synthesis, one would gain muscle even if the diet is held constant.

I think the second thing to happen, however, is that muscle gain will cease as, once bodyweight is increased, the body is now at its "maintenance" level, albeit with higher nitrogen retention
