my whole hand is numb all the time - well, not my entire hand, but from my ring finger to my thumb it is. what i am afraid of is that my options are limited right now. my hands are still retaining a lot of water, but the CTS is so bad, the doc is probably going to want to perform the surgery straight away. even though it may not be needed. surely it will go away in a few more weeks. but if it doesn't, and i do need surgery, i won't have any insurance then. on the other side, if he does the surgery now, i'll never have to worry about it again...Originally posted by THE BOUNCER
did chest today and my hand went numb for a second but was fine after that.

Before you even consider surgery go to a skilled hand surgeon or orthro that is fimiliar with hand injections for CTS. I had CTS to the extreme I couldn't close my hand or even sleep at night. After a few injections I was as good as new, the last injection that I got was over three years ago. i have to stick with only 2 i.u. per day when I use GH but I still get all the fat burning effects.

I agree with liftsiron. That is what I did before I had my CTS surgery, I went to an orthapedic surgeon and a hand surgeon. Conclusion based on EMG test was that the injections (cortizone or something similar) to alleviate inflammation would not be sufficient given the severity of my condition. And yes, the numbness should be in the thumb and first 3 fingers. Nature is really funny, the nerves for your pinky do not run thru the carpal tunnel, so of all the useless things, your pinky feels normal but the fingers you need are totally numb. Fucking evolution.
Good luck bro,
DrG
