  • Swolen Ankles

Alright guys - here is my problem - the inside of my ankles are swolen like nobody's business. I just noticed it in the last 2-3 days.

My diet is VERY clean, trust me. Been on this particular diet for almost a month now (5005 calories a day = P-504g, C-551g, F-77g). Water intake is between 1.5 and 2 gallons a day with about a half a pot of coffee in the early morning...

Sleeping about 6-7 hours during the week nights and 9-10 on weekends.

    Sodium is VERY low....

    Blood pressue is 126/74......

Exactly 2 weeks into 500mg test enanthate a week, 10mg nolva per day and started HCG today (planning on 250 i.u.'s twice a week) Basskiller/Skye's outline for first cycles with similar PCT.

Currently 5'8" (this hasn't changed unfortunately), 207 pounds, about 8.5% bf.

I haven't noticed any water retention anywhere else. My face is still lean and muscle definition is as clear as it should be with 8.5% bf.

Any advice, concerns, recommendations, further information needed etc....

Fog, it could just be somewhere you are holding the water. Gravity could be playing a role and it could just be you. But significant change with adding AS, I wouldn't worry about it. Espeacially if it dosn't hurt or feel uncomfortable. Also since it's both ankles leads me to belive it's a simple imbalance in your body and not something specific to your ankles. Give your body a couple more weeks to balance out and see if it subsides.

You pretty much said everything that I would've questioned.....I'm thinking water retention from the AS possibly but that's about it. If it was my personally I'd take a mild diuretic for just a few days and see if that changes anything. You can buy taraxotone at your local GNC. Aside from that I have no idea bro.

How about elevating the ankles. When I get tattoo work done on my leg, it tends to swell up and hurt like a mofo for a couple weeks. I have found that if I sleep with the leg up on some pillows it helps the swelling go away sonner and it doesnt hurt so much during the day. Probably not the same thing but its worth a shot.

Thanks for the replys everyone. I have tried not to associate this with edema but I seem to have all the symptons. However, none of the "causes" seem to match the diagnosis (I am not vitamin B deficient etc) so I am just going to give it a few days. It is not painful and the swelling goes down a little when I prop my feet up but that doesn't necessarily fix the underlying problem.

I think I will change things one at a time and see when it starts to go away. Hopefully it is just water retention from the cycle. I guess I thought someone else might have experienced the same thing without long term effects (I have read about pitted edema being a long term effect and didnt' want this to happen to me).

If anyone else has anything to say feel free to help me out...

Well, I suppose that it is something to look for now.

By the way, someone else noticed it just so you know. We were sitting around the table after a wedding reception Saturday night and they noticed the inside of my ankles looked funny (I had my foot propped up on my knee).

I had been looking for water retention in my face as this is where I normally have it during a normal "bulk" so I would have never guessed. Anyway, now you can look for this on your next cylce and maybe you will have the same issue and know that it is not a big deal ;) (not that I would wish it on you).

Just an update - the swelling has resided and all is well.

I looked back over my books and I realized that I had been taking Vicodin and 800mg Ibuprofen to help ease the pain I had been having in my lower back. Taking that into consideration probably would have helped with the diagnosis in the first place. I quit taking it about 1-2 days before I noticed the swelling so I suppose either the injury or the pain medicine could have caused to swelling to stick around for a while.
