  • Additional T3 w/ Synthroid

I have hypothyroidism and was wondering if I supplement an additional T3 supplement would that cause me additional long term problems? Any ideas or help would be appreciated!

Hmmm...when you last had bloodwork, as I assume you had to see if your therapeutic dose was effective, what were your T3 values like? If they were high, you might not want to run additional T3. However, if they were low, running additional T3 shouldn't be a problem.

.1 that's milligrams right? So that would be a fairly hefty dose of T4 at 100mcg.

            That's correct.

When I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, I was put on Synthroid at .025mg for 3 months. At the end of that period I had more blood work done, and my TSH levels had went up even more. He then put me on .1mg for the next 3 months. I will have more blood work done in November to see where I stand!
