I May Have a Possible Abcess - Please Help

I recently had an infection drained. It's not all that fun but needed to be done. If it is hot and red it is probably infected. If it is infected, it will hurt unbelievably bad and you won't be able to move your shoulder without a good deal of pain. In that case, go see a doc and they'll probably give you a shot of some antibiotics first. The next day depending on what happens they'll drain it.

Infections can be serious though. Don't take it too litely.

You can also get some Tetracycline tablets from a pet store (for fish) it's one of the antibiotics a doctor will prescribe, it's roughly 5 bucks and mine comes in 250mg pills, take 500mg at night.

This is why I personally don't like delt injections. I can never get the needle at a 90 degree angle and still see WTF I'm doing.

I hope it clears up for you bro. Next time, hit the quads with an 1 and 1/2 incher and bury it.

Is this the first time you've used this steroid solution? My infection occured when I made some homebrew TE and didn't bake it (but yes I did filter it).

So far the redness has been clearing up and the temperature feels like it is returning to normal. The only thing remaining is a lump which feels like an inflammed muscle which I credit to the gear moving and settling in the muscle...there are no soft spots yet so there is no need for me to start poking around and trying to drain it. I'm using those Icey Hot patches...so hopefully it will ok in due time. Thanks for all the input...I'll keep you updated

Soft spots?? You should drain from the hard spots. That's where the fluid is under.

how long has this been going on? if it has been longer than 2 weeks you should get medical help. there is no need to destroy a muscle cause of infection that can be dealt with.

when there is an abscess you can feel where your hard muscle end and the soft puss pocket begins, DRAIN THE SOFT SPOT...

Here is a little update this morning...the redness is almost ALL Gone..and there is very little warmth to the touch! I take that as a very good sign since an infection would get progressively worse.

I think I know what happened...I injected into the delt and then when I started massaging it, I massaged it downward therefore making the gear travel down. I can actually feel from the injection point the trail of gear down to the lump. As of now..only a lump is left but it is gradually disappering. No fever or chills..so I think I'll be ok.

good to hear bro. 99% of the time these things clear up on their own, but when they don't it can be really bad.

Prolly bleeding in the muscle....not to serious but need to keep an eye out...............if you have Voltaren Gel or Reparil Gel it would help ease the swelling........I prefer reparil as i had the same symptoms with Winny+Sust combo and it hurt like a biatch

This should be my last update...because everything now seems to be fine. The redness, the heat, and lump are almost completly gone...and there is no soreness or pain any more.

Thanks for all of your help guys! I feel like a big pussy now that my possible abcess was nothing more then unabsorbed gear. I'm just glad that it was nothing serious. If this happens again, now I know what to do!
