Metaformin

What do you guys think of metaformin?Im very afraid of insulin but from what ive heard metaformin is safe.I know its effects are not near slin.Someone elaborate please.

first off its called metformin or glucophage(brand name), it will not induce hypoglycemia so it is infact safer than slin, its mechanism of action although disputed is somewhere along the lines of decreasing GI absorption of glucose and decreasing gluconeogenisis in the liver while increasing peripheral absorption. It is difficult to say if it would have a big impact on what your trying to use it for.
