A Colorado doctor pleaded guilty this morning to a steroids-related charge that a federal prosecutor in Mobile called the "first step in a long journey" that he expects to result in additional criminal charges.
Appearing in Mobile's U.S. District Court in a dark, striped shirt and grey pants, 52-year-old Dr. Scott A. Corless pleaded guilty to withholding information about a conspiracy to write prescriptions for anabolic steroids and other performance-enhancing substances. Prosecutors brought the lesser charge, which carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison, after Corliss agreed to cooperate with investigators.
