  • igf and injury rehab

I've read a study that linked IGF suplementation with increased healing, specifically for rotator cuff injuries.

Has anyone here used IGF like this? If so, what were your results.

I have a friend who used IGF to help heal a back problem (disc problem with resulting nerve problems). The doctor was shocked, didn't understand how he could possibly heal up in only 3 weeks. Friend didn't say anything tho...he left the doctor dumbfounded as to how he did it.

yeah i've seem some other anecdotal stuff on the boards as well.

do you know what his protocol was? was he strictly rehabbing at the time or was he lifting as nrmal through an injury? Did he pin all over or just in the affected area?

I would go with HGH for rehab/healing. You get the benefits of the actual GH and then the benefits from increased IGF.

I've thought about that, but it seems from my research that it is the increase in IGF that causes healing, so that, combined with the price made me think about 'skipping the middle man' so to speak.

I think long term GH is cheaper than IGF. of coarse I have no clue what you pay for either though.

no i dont think that is the case. I dont think you are giving GH all its credit due. GH heals in ways other then just IGF being increased. there is a reason that burn victims receive GH treatment and not just IGF treatment.

fair enough....for the same amount of time, GH would be cheaper, my prices are avreage from what I've seen around.

i wonder how long it would take for gh to affect healing? Do you think it would be as quick as IGF (on the order of 3 weeks or so)?

I guess there is a sort of mental obstacle for me to overcome with GH, as it seems so hardcore compared to gear. It might not be, but it's the impression that I have for whatever reason.

GH is no more "hardcore" then IGF. :)

I think the healing process will begin the same amount of time but will take awhile.

Lets also be realistic. If you have a screwed rotator, no amount of gh will help. What exactly is the injury and have you had is looked at?

I'm going in to have it looked at in a week or two. It happened on incline bp and makes all shoulder movements really painfull.

get it looked at before waisting money on gh or igf. if it is something that needs surgery gh or igf wont do shit.

what is the pain like? does it ache or burn or what? where is the pain located in the shoulder?

the pain is toward the front of my shoulder, the front of the medial head and runs down my arm to my bi at times. it aches most of the time when it's been aggrivated, it's a bit sharper during exercise/movement.

yea, definitely get that looked at before spending your money on other things. i had some pain in my shoulder, had an xray and MRI just last week as a matter of fact. shoulder specialist said everything looked fine and that my pain is from muscle pressing on nerves in my rear shoulder. i have to go get deep tissue massage, electric stim, and ultrasound to break up the knots and scar tissue etc..

I was goign to post what my buddy did, but now I'm going to refrain and tell you to see a doctor. I had assumed this was some nagging little injury, not a recent injury that you don't even know the extent of.

yea, first thing he needs to do is get an Xray and then MRI and then work from there.
