  • Athletes Don't Improve With Human Growth Hormone, Study Finds

Healthy people from age 13 to 45 who took human growth hormone gained about 4.6 pounds (2.1 kilograms), according to the study. That bulk didn't translate to either stronger biceps or quadriceps in the two longest studies the researchers examined.

People who took human growth hormone, also called HGH, were more likely to develop joint pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. Their fitness for an endurance bicycle race may have worsened and they had higher levels of fatigue-inducing lactate in their muscles, according to the study.

Hmmmm - I wonder how many "good" studies there are - it seems that for every good study there is a bad one to counter it BUT I highly doubt Bloomberg will be publishing anyone's "good" studies on the stuff ....

That seems so contradictory to everything I have learned during all of my physiology classes I took as an undergrad. Not that I am some kind of expert but seems strange to me.
