CYPRESS, Calif.—Police say a 76-year-old man has been arrested in Orange County for investigation of selling illegal steroids after 5,000 doses of the performance-enhancing drugs were found at his home.

Police say John Livingstone of Cypress was arrested Wednesday. A phone message left at his home Thursday by The Associated Press was not immediately returned.

Police Sgt. Tom Bruce says officers armed with a search warrant found an estimated $55,000 worth of steroids, along with syringes and business receipts.

Livingstone was booked for investigation of possessing anabolic steroids and possessing drugs for sale and transportation. He was released on $50,000 bail.

I read these stories that talk about how many "doses" they find, but I'm still not sure what's considered a dose.

A little clarification...You know that 50mg is the dose standard or you just saying they measure in mg but don't know the dose amount?

it will depend on what it is -- liquid - powder or pill form -- fed regs on pwder is every 25 mgs is a dose -- will take amount of powders in grams . calculate what it would measure out to by there guidelines of what each gram of powder would produce mgs wise --- then calculate in terms of how many 25 mg doses there are -

as for pills -- say you have 1000 dbol tabs -- each tab will be considerd a dose by fed terms -- so you will be charged for each tab as a single dose -- adds up pretty quickly !!!!!!

you have liquid -- say a 10 ml bottle at 250 mgs per ml -- by fed standards every 25 mgs is a dose - so every ml is 10 doses - so 100 doses per 10 ml bottle - so as you can see it will add up really quickly

now local pd guidelines may differ from fed guidelines on what they consider a dose maybe higher -- but i know that the standard as far as pwder and liquid for fed is 25 mg

shibby i agree -- feds also have a system as far as setencing -- they calculate it off of amounts and past history -

once that is done you will fall into a catagory -- 1 and 2 - anywhere from 6 months to a year depending on record anything above catagory 2 and you will deffinitley be looking at time -

catagory 1 is the best 2 being ok -- still looking at poss year fed time

fines are a minumum of 1000 and a max of 100,000

25mg as a single dose?? Wow, that is crazy! That does add up quick.
