  • Pushing the needle question

Today I tried three different spots in my quad. The first two got through the skin just fine but when the needle was about half way in (1in needle) I hit a tough spot. I pushed through fine but after it broke through what ever tough spot it hit there was pain as I kept pushing. It seemed the harder I pushed the more the pain. Anyone have this before?

yeah I quit quad injects about 5 years ago...I don't like the spot really. when my ex-girl used to do them they were okay cuz she was a nurse and could do it okay...I could never seem to hit them right and the pain wasn't fun...nor the nerves or the blood vessels. I still to glutes, shoulders and chest now.

scar tissue. you are going to have to switch to a different spot. it will get worse and worse if you dont give the area a break.

this happened to my buddy...definately think its scar tissue

he'd inject in the same spots week after week because he is too much of a vagina to switch it up haha

Do the glutes. Easiest and safest. You might have hit a nerve

I rotate both glutes and both quads. It was just something new for me. I have had it hurt from the second the needle touched the skin so I just move, but never had it before after the needle was in.

i have had this happen in the past aswell shibby -- could be scar tissue but i had it happen the first time i hit my quad -- so not sold on it being solely scar tissue -

Yep me to bro same issuses. sometimes you can just touch the skin and it hurts, move over a bit and all is fine. same thing when the needle is in half way it might start to hurt so I just angle it a bit different and all is good.

I just hit my delt for the first time ever and it went through the skin and started into the muscle and hit something hard and resistant same as you I pushed and it hurt. I get that in my quads in places also. What kind and size pin are you using? I have used vet needles in the past and I don't think they are nearly as sharp.

What are you shooting through a 25g needle in the quad? And I too have had issues in the quads with "tough" spots about 1" into the leg even when I first started pinning them - definitely wasn't scar tissue....
