Albany County District Attorney David Soares is now among several people facing a lawsuit filed by the owners of the Florida pharmacy at the center of the DA's steroid ring bust.
The owners claim their rights were violated in what they call "an illegal search and detainment." It also alleges employees were pressured to talk when law enforcement was not present, and that Soares made comments about the pharmacy and its owners that were untrue; defaming the plaintiffs and hurting their business.
The five Plaintiffs recently had their criminal cases thrown out of Albany County Court... and the DA's office is appealing.
The lawsuit says they're seeking at least $15,000 in damages.
Soares' spokesperson says they are aware of the lawsuit, but cannot comment on pending litigation.
