Why do we stack steroids

Can I get your opinions on why it is useful to stack roids?

My understanding so far is that stacking is used when you want to add another effect to the base roid. So say that you are on Test Enanthate and you add equipoise for denser muscles and increased mass, or Winstrol to decrease water retention and strip some of the fat. Is this right?

Another theory I have heard is that AAS stop the natural production of testosterone and because synthetic testosterone has a less complex molecule than natural test you need to stack synthetic testosterone or your libido will crash (I must admit this sounds like a lot of baloney to me).

Also, is it possible to divide roids between base ones (all type of tests, sus, etc) and stacks (winstrol, equipoise) or can many be used as both?

People stack roids because different steroids do slightly different things to our physique. As for various test esters, some work faster but they all do the same thing. As for syn test vs. natural test the body can't tell the diff. But elevated test levels beyond normal levels for an extended time will lower or shut off natural test production.

some compliment each other also. for example, winstrol frees up more test to be used by the body for what we want it for.

so far you have been giving some good info that I do agree with but thought I would add this:

general speaking short esters will be stacked with short esters since your injection frequency will match and it will make more sense to do things this way.. For example a common stack is test prop an tren ace or test enth and deca.... One is a short ester combo and one is a long ester combo...

Drugs are stacked toghether to get a synergistic effect from the slightly different effects that certain steroids have based on what your goals are.... General speaking you will see the following steroids stacked together for the following reasons... Mind you this is a general outline and some more advanced users may use some of these drugs while having different goals.... I will list some in both categories because they do fit.

Test should always be the base of every cycle so I will list it under the category based on its ester....

Bulking/mass building Drugs:

Test Suspension/Enth/Cyp/Blend
Nandrolone
EQ
Dbol
Anadrol
Trenbolone

Cutting/Contest Drugs:

Test Prop
EQ
Winny
Masteron
Primo
Halo
Trenbolone

Obviously there is more steroids then this but these are the most commonly used ones and just a quick very general guide of how to use them....

I will anwser this one cuzz it wasnt anwsered clearly.
The whole 1 less molecule thing is new to me. but if you take any AAS at a high enough dose to build muscle your natural production of testosterone will shut down. If you are taking test then your libido will be fine if not higher. If you take deca NOT always but for most including myself your libido will be gone. This is one of the major reasons why I always use test in any cycle

This confuses me a bit. Why is Test Prop a cutting compound? Isn't it simply testosterone combined with a short ester so it's released more quickly but once released it still acts as any other type of test: huge mass gains, water retention, aromatisation, etc? Is there any base roid for a stripping phase that can substitute test?

Test prop isnt only a cutting compound. He ment test prop is used in most peoples cutting cycles. Most people retain less water with prop. All drugs can be used to cut or gain weight. Diet will make the drug go one way or the other.

Those guys pretty much covered the answer to that Alpha... It is just more common for people to use prop for cutting and the longer esters for mass building... Mostly because of the water retention factor but as I said when I posted the list.... Advanced users can use any drug for either pretty much because they will know ways of making them work for their goals and are experienced in doing so.... The guide I posted was just a general guide to work from
