good call scott. and you know what bro, i am happy about it!!
bodybuilding going mainstream just sucks. i want it under ground, i want it like it was in the arnold days.
i have to agree with you !!!
what i finding interesting though is the huge explosion of bodybuilding and its popularity in countries such as iraq and afhganistan - hell in alot of your asian countries it seems to be more and more popular where in this country it has gone more underground -
wondering if it has just run its course been there done that type or is it the drug end of it . where as in most euro , asian, middle eastern countries the drug end of it isnt looked down on as it is here - steroids , gear in general is looked at as the boogie man at this particualr time in the us .
so was wondering if that is whats contributing to its slow death here in the usa
Its always been a cult sport here, maybe in 80's it started to take off a bit but then all the newspaper articles about steroids and heart attacks killed it into obscurity. There are pockets of followers but generally its like model airplane type numbers
Bodybuilding as a sport might be dead here in the US. but as a hobbie I see it as big as ever. Everyone I know wants to lift weights and be big. Before the numbers were very small no one wanted to do it? Of coarse this is hobbie level and not any compatition levels.
So so many people ask about diets and know a lil something about diets now compared to 5 years ago.

The thing with bodybuilding is that it pioneers on many fronts athletic and muscular development but nobody wants to call it bodybuilding, every rugby player I know wants to be bigger and stronger and all they talk about is creatine etc, MMA guys are alwasy at the gym, boxers, blah blah they all wanna get stronger and or bigger which in essence is bodybuilding but they all see it as a dirty word.
