I'm gonna put together a thread here wherein I will profile some bodybuilders that I feel can really do something on the International stage and some that partially have already. I'll keep it within this thread so that its precise and I'll detail the reasons why I think they have a chance.
As a precursor I would say that since Reg Parks (1958 and 1965 Pro Mr Universe, Reg Park - Home)
the Universe and Olympia podiums haven't exactly been proliferated with UK atheletes. Of those that did make it its sometimes suprising to me how easily the others are seemingly forgotten. Dorian Yates is a name everyone knows and respects, mainly for his raising of the bar in the mass order, but before his time there was another Brit that brought some serious mass for his era, Brutal Bertil Fox, Fox, Bertil

Some decade later Charles Clairmont, a very prolific competitor also seems forgotten to the twenty somethings yet the guy had awsome genetics and a competitive record that speaks for itself;
Clairmonte, Charles

Sometimes you get competitors that once pro impress many with their size and stage presence like Mike Katz did but as a European it seems they never get much of a mention stateside whereas here they are like gods withing the UK scene, Ian Harrison springs to mind here Harrison, Ian

Anyway moving on to today and having been to the Olympia at least and seen close up guys like Jay, Dex, Wolfe, and seen what is needed; complete, densely muscled and ever more proportioned and symetrical mass and more importantly the apparent potential to grow more and keep on improving some more, the following are those to look out for;
Alvin Small;
Alvin Small Championship Bodybuilding
Alvin is 'The British' UKBBF (IFBB affiliated) Heavyweight champion and now has his pro card, been training 15 years but has been competing a relatively short period of time with a fairly rapid ascent of progress both in terms of competition weight and prestige of placings. Since winning his pro card in 2008 he's gone on to achieve 5th in the Arnold Classic international heavyweights.
Now he's a strong dude with great genetics, brought up tough, I used to hang with his cousin Craig in Nottingham and that dude squats 10 plates no joke.
Alvin has that thick set density from heavy lifting but maintains a tight waist and flowing strong lines, there are areas that need work and he's working with the right people at the moment on diet to achieve a further degree of hardness. Looking at his progress since competing seriousely to date its very believable that the guy has the potential and apparently the desire to add more muscle and is legitametly shooting for a stage weight of 280lb for his next show. Some more images below, next week I'll take about James Llewellin.
