  • Bloodwork question.

Ive done a search here and looked around online, I got my bloodwork back and all was well and good cept for my ALT levels which were fucking sky high... I know these levels can spike drastically as all sorts of things play into why they are elevated. Everything else is totally fine, within all the normal ranges, Im racking my brain trying to figure out wtf is going on here. I am trying not to let this mess w/me right now but I am pretty frustrated... not even 4 months ago my liver results were perfectly normally ... now that I'm training and what not, living clean, the ALT levels sky up. Ask me anything, I can tell you right now I barely take tylenol no 17-aa. Any ideas would be appreciated, I do know that day I almost passed out I felt so weak after they had taken blood, I'm wondering if it's got to do w/withdrawal symptoms somehow (dehydration maybe)? Sigh.

i have never talked to someone that works out and exercises that dosent have high ALT levels.

add to that the meds your taking for your recovery and it makes sense.

better then saying "your levels are sky high" post the actual number. docs tend to exaggerate.

my doc has told me "your a bit high with the alt levels" you look at it and it says 48 or something like that. i usually go to doc after the gym. just working out boost is by like 20. lol

No seriously...Unless you STAY in that range for a long time, then it becomes a serious issue...The point is, getting it lowered and maintaining it there....;) They ask you to fast so that they can get an accurate level as if you were waking up...But once you eat, drink or whatever, levels are off the chart....
well put me in for fasting / not retaining and barely holding ANY nutrients down before this visit. This was not even brought up at all in the bloodworks I've had done over the last 3 years every half year. I dunno, seeing 0-65 and chillin at literally nearly double that spooked me big time, I do see my doctor again next week and I am getting another bloodwork done then, I guess it'll be a wait and see scenario. I can eat solids / protein shakes again and keep them down, my water intake is over a gallon a day, I dunno man, just bothers me right now so fucking much to be having to look @ that result.

aside from being on methadome for so long here's what I've been prescribed (NOTE I do not take anything except for the zofram and clonodine at this point because I do not like any the results that all the other shit gave me and or it's a narcotic, klonopin): Roughly 6 months ago I stopped taking these medications for "ptsd" and I know that these are liver killers but my levels were monitered and fine on them: depakote 1500mg daily, lithium (believe it was 1000mg twice daily), klonopin 1mg 1-2 daily (again don't touch the shit wouldn't want it around me even during w/ds), serequel 200mg twice daily.

No methadome..... hence the w/ds kicked over 2 weeks ago and that's why I was in for the bloodwork / ekg ... the bloodwork was done two days ago. I use nothing but clonodine (for the chills and tremors of w/ds and zofram for the puking) and as soon as I am thru the symptoms those are gone too.. I'm just confused as fuck and it's been a really stressful few weeks, this really caught me off guard.

search each one of the drugs your using now and see if any of them effect the liver?

btw - the kicker is even while being a dipshit using all sorts of narcotics and what not I almost always was taking milk thistle and I always had normal levels ALT... this is just taking me for a ride right now.

Okay, I did some more research:
"Hepatic: In 723 patients receiving cyclophosphamide-based chemotherapy in US clinical trials, AST and/or ALT values have been reported to exceed twice the upper limit of normal in approximately 1% to 2% of patients receiving Zofran Tablets. The increases were transient and did not appear to be related to dose or duration of therapy. On repeat exposure, similar transient elevations in transaminase values occurred in some courses, but symptomatic hepatic disease did not occur. The role of cancer chemotherapy in these biochemical changes cannot be clearly determined.

There have been reports of liver failure and death in patients with cancer receiving concurrent medications including potentially hepatotoxic cytotoxic chemotherapy and antibiotics. The etiology of the liver failure is unclear.

Integumentary: Rash has occurred in approximately 1% of patients receiving ondansetron.

Other: Rare cases of anaphylaxis, bronchospasm, tachycardia, angina (chest pain), hypokalemia, electrocardiographic alterations, vascular occlusive events, and grand mal seizures have been reported. Except for bronchospasm and anaphylaxis, the relationship to Zofran was unclear." - This was the first good piece of information I could find, and it somehow eluded me half the night - ever since I started taking zofran I've noticed on my firsts by my ring finger and middle two small itchy rashes... it basically felt like mild exami... somedays it wasn't bad at all, somedays i wanted to stratch my fingers off. Anyway, reading that and seeing that is the 1 or 2% of people I'm going to conclude that the possible ALT levels doubling as stated above (as rarely as these other conditions apparently) could well be that I am just the 1 or 2 %. I'm going to try just not to take the zofran anymore (this is going to suck royally because it truly has kept me from puking over 30+ times in days when I don't have it) and catch up with my doctor for our scheduled appointment next week. Why couldn't I have been a sperm from the hulk's donor closet.
