  • need insight on genetic limits.

I'm 6'8", 253lbs with 19% body fat. Can i get a few pics of guys who are genetically maxed out?

My dumbbell military press has plateaued at 90lbs per arm (for years, trying to find a way around it. Just started using 70lbs instead of 90, and sitting on a medicine ball to improve stabilizers.), my curl has plateaued at 65lbs per arm for 5 reps. My tris are still improving as is my bench. But very slowly. Have i reached my genetic limit on these lifts? I've been training for about 4 years now.

Maybe you should switch up your exercises and then go back to the DB PRESS later,,this sometimes will help you get past sticking points.

Alin is right.... Another thing is how many reps do you do... Power lifters usually go in the lower rep numbers in order to gain strength.... So if you aren't you could try doing a set of 6, set of 4 and maybe a set of 2.... Maxing out with as much weight as possible as well as forced reps can help you get stronger...

no offense, but those lifts are pretty weak in comparo to what I do and im 5`8` 195 about 14% bodyfat...you def need to revamp your workouts and maybe even train with someone who knows what they are doing...ive trained people who were "maxed out genetically" without any supplementation and taken them farther than they thought was possible

195 14% body fat puts you at around 168lbs. 253 at 19% body fat puts me at 205. Damn straight i take offense to what you said bro. Im a personal trainer and i'm qualified to train ignorant people like you. I know what i'm doing. i've only known one other guy who can lift 90lbs per arm military. i could switch to barbell, but I've tried this before. So i'm gonna tackle it at a different angle.

And by the way fuck you man. Seriously.

possibly not the best way to go about asking for advice, if you dont like what he's saying and reply like that, then the more senior members of the forum who are extremely helpful may be wary of giving you advice!!

            just a thought...

there is your problem. you are in a gym surrounded by "average types" so to speak.

you want to progress with your lifts you need to put yourself in an atmosphere conducive to progression. a gym where only 1 other guy can do 90lb db presses is not the place.. lol

p.s. the guy was trying to help you and you say fuck you? maybe your attitude is the reason you are so weak? something to think about..

I was trying to be nice but as a professional you must be terrible at your job and you must look like shit because you pointed out yourself how much you outweigh me therefore you should be able to do alot more weight example, I do arnold presses with 90s and straight dumbell presses wid dumbells with 110 for sets...so maybe you should step your game up because sounds like your a real pussy

oh yea btw I do not need to state what I do but I would guarantee I have more education and knowledge in this field than your little brain could contain so do not try and call me ignorant

NOT COOL AT ALL! Bro he may be ignorant but you are being arrongant... I'll take uneductaed over a pompous ass any day cuz the difference there is I can help teach the ignorant but the arrogant thinks he is superior and knows all so his potential is horribly limited....

If you think you know everything cuz you're a personal trainer then you are horribly mistaken.... I bet you at least half the guys that have the most knowledge on these boards don't have their certificate and believe me they know more about bodybuilding then you pretty much any trainer out there... Also most guys on these boards could get their training certificate without ever cracking a book because they have so much knowledge and have been living it for years... So how about you humble yourself if you want to come here asking for advice...

                          Not cool :disagree:

Al is trying to give you some advice and you spit in his face. You can't just come in and here and say fuck you all you want to people just because of what you think is poor advice. This is how this board doesn't work. If you don't like, you are more than welcome to leave.
