  • Controlled steroids delivery from China.

An Oak Lawn man was arrested in Macomb Monday afternoon following an investigation involving the McDonough County Sheriff’s office and the Department of Homeland Security Customs Enforcement.

According to a press release issued by the McDonough County Sheriff’s office, the Department of Homeland Security intercepted a package, sent from China with a destination address of 713 Reeveston Drive in Macomb, containing 1,000 tablets and 25 vials of anabolic steroids.

McDonough County deputies, along with the Macomb, Blandinsville, Bushnell and Colchester police departments set up a sting operation at approximately 2 p.m. Monday at 713 Reeveston Drive.

Eric A. Hardt, 26, of Oak Lawn, was arrested in front of the residence in his vehicle, with the open package of anabolic steroids. A search warrant executed at the residence resulted in the seizure of liquid hydrocodone and numerous syringes.

Hardt was charged with possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone), a class 3 felony; possession of controlled substance with the intent to deliver (anabolic steroids), a class 4 felony; and possession of hypodermic syringes, a class A misdemeanor, and lodged in McDonough County Jail.

During a court appearance Tuesday afternoon in McDonough County Circuit Court,
Hardt’s bond was set at $5,000 and he given a preliminary court date of Jan. 4, 2012. He was appointed a public defender.

On the class 3 and 4 felony charges, Hardt faces between one and five years in state prison and a fine of up to $50,000. The class A misdemeanor charge is punishable by a up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $2,500.

This is bs imo and makes me want to follow my dreams of law school so o can help protect people like this. 1000 tabs and 25 bottles could be for personal usage. Since when is possession of needles a misdemeanor?
Our criminal justice system is so fucked.

My last seizure letter was from them I think as a subdivision or sister company to us customs. Yeah I said company bc all govt agencies are businesses that use our tax dollars for bs like this to feed the whole system. From the fat cops who arrested the guy bc they have nothing better to do to the fat ass babysitters in prison clocking six figures to babysit nonviolent offenders such as this guy.

Hpefully he gets a good lawyer. Those amounts are easily excused for personal use. It puzzles me while the go after this stuff when the money could be better used busting up a meth lab or stopping the smuggling of cocaine and heroin,,,true dangers to our society. Most AAS users are normal, hard working people just trying to look better. Hardly a crime.

Great post. Agree 100%. These are nonviolent crimes that need to be rectified.

Homeland security? Are you kidding me!! Since when are they interested in athletes and steroids?! If they don't have anything better to do (like make sure no fucking dirty bombs get set off on US soil), then maybe they need to be dismantled. Our government is a runaway train with government agencies full of trigger happy morons ready to beat down it's own citizens for no just cause! This is such a waste of our money it's not even funny. How many trillions are we in dept?! Way way too many mother fucker sucking tit on this cash cow we call a government. How about using our resources to say.... Stop outsourcing our jobs, try to fix the economy, throw corrupt officials behind bars where they belong etc. Homeland Security should be securing our soil for Christ sake, not a fucking letter full of hormones that will be used for performance enhancement!! These hormones used to be classified as non-scheduled along with such drugs as antibiotics and such. As long as he's not selling this shit to kids, then no real harm done. He's facing hard time over a few cycles worth of juice? All I can say is WOW. This is so petty!! Even if he beats the rap and pleads to a lesser charge, his life is fucked now!! What's next, life in prison with no possibility for porole over some bacteriostatic water? Homeland Security needs to stop another 9-11 not a letter full of juice!!!
