Can someone explain to me what steroids have to do with homeland security?

Longmont police working with the Department of Homeland Security and United States Postal Service on Thursday arrested a 26-year-old man they say attempted to have a kilogram of Chinese anabolic steroids mailed to his house.

A police report said John Raymond Oriville Trepke was arrested at his home after taking delivery of 1,326 grams of testosterone enanthate, an anabolic steroid. He faces drug possession and distribution charges.

Police say United States Customs and Border Protection officers in San Francisco seized the package which originated in Hong Kong, and had been addressed to Trepke.

Federal officials turned the steroids over to the HSI office in Greeley, and a United States Postal Inspector delivered the steroids to Trepke, at which time he was arrested.

Cmdr. Jeff Satur said police believe Trepke was selling the steroids, because he does not appear physically to be a steroid user. Trepke weighs 142 pounds and stand 5 feet, 7 inches tall.

Police found an empty box inside Trepke's residence with the same Hong Kong shipping address printed on it along with a syringe and two glass containers with hormone labels on them.

Trepke remained in custody at Boulder County jail on Friday.

Poor guy was just looking to get his swole on and the .gov went all terrorist on his ass. Shitty thing is they nail people for distribution based on quantity without any evidence of a sales network. That could have just been many years worth of personal brewing.

Also sucks that society trys so hard to demonize and persecute steroids that are used for bettering oneself while at the same time we are on a path toward legalizing recreational marijuana. I just have a hard time with the logic behind society's decision on this matter.

What i have an extremely hard time with is this...there is and has been an epidemic of street drugs going on for years. Drugs that ruin ppl's lives. Drugs that cause ppl to lie, cheat, steal, ruin families, and kill. Drugs that destroy lives. And as a brother of a piece of shit disgusting heroin addict sister, that has destroyed my family, for me to see a focus on bringing down anabolic users is just fucking sickening. Spend your time and resources bringing down narcotics, not prescription hormones. To me theres no comparison. Dudes trying to get bigger in the gym, vs pieces of shit that are menaces to society. Hmmm, yeah, we better crack down on steroids. What a fuckin joke. Pisses me off to no end.
