Seeing as I am sitting here in a cold UK gym and only one guy is working out. . I thought I would write a little blurb on my thoughts for all you newbies out there sifting (or not sifting enough??!?) through all the info on the boards on what cycles are best etc. . .
As I said, these are my thoughts and not gospel and many may or may not agree so read on and take stuff in but as always DO YOUR RESEARCH and get lots of opinions. .that is the first lesson for the day!
Wow, your first cycle, what to take, how to use it, shot spacing, post cycle therapy.. .whew. .all very complicated right?
WRONG, in my humble opinion the first time user these days makes his cycle waaaay to complicated than he has to to get great gains. ..
What does one need to set up a good cycle?
In general most guys doing a cycle want
A) good size and
B) well retained mass after the cycle right? what is the point of gaining 45 and losing 50?
so how is this accomplished? here are a few basics that everyone can follow to get a good first cycle under their belt and be happy with the results!
1. what puts on size? TESTOSTERONE; always start with test.
- A good starting dose is 400mg/week (yes, this is a low dose as compaired to what some reccomend but read on. . .)
-Use long acting esters like cyp and enanthate as they are easier to maintain even blood levels as compaired to the multi-shot and ofter more painful short acting esters like propionate. sustanon is not a good choice for a first timer.. .takes waaay to long to work properly as it has very slow build up.
You can split the shots into twice weekly with these compounds so you have less buildup of oil in any one injection site and thus avoid any pain in the area that will hinder workouts!
**you guys afraid of needles. . .suck it up and breath into a paper bag first. . .doing orals only will get you some gains but not what you are looking for in most cases**
2. ONE well retained more anabolic injectable compound should then be chosen to stack with the test; keeping your cycle experience in mind. . .ie, first timer don't hit the trenbolone and haloteston just yet!
Good ones are EQ, Deca, and winstrol as well as Primo (caution, many fakes about of primo!)
EQ is great at 300mg/week when stacked with test, deca the same and winstrol you can go 50mg EOD with great results! Primo 300mg/week is great!
Then add in some dianabol at 20- 30mg/day to give you a good boost out of the gate weeks 1-4
***Anti estrogens are important to have on hand; I prefer to use nolvadex ONLY when I feel I may be getting some aromatization. Usually 40mg per day 20AM and 20PM will suffice to kill the gyno! Remember this is a first cycle and not a power bomb hard core high test run. . .
Proviron is also a good choice although harder to find (50mg/day; 25 am, 25 pm). . .arimidex and other similar converson blocking drugs are great for keeping off the water. .but I have some thought on this as well later on. . .
In general with the dosages listed you will have little to no problems with gyno "popping up" but do keep some nolva on hand!
3. Post cycle therapy. ..I keep this simple too. Start this up ~2 weeks after your last shot of long acting testosterone. . .all the clomid in the world will not over-ride the dampening effect of even 10mg of dbol/day!
nolvadex 80mg (40 am, 40pm days 1-2) then 20mg am and 20pm straight thru 4 weeks
Proviron 50mg (25am 25pm) straight thru 4 weeks (keeps little newbie down below fully functional so you feel confident thru your recovery! :D )
I tend to err on the side of going longer for PCT. .It can't hurt!
**I choose nolvadex because it does not make me SAD! Some like to stack clomid AND nolvadex for the best of both worlds** hey, you can cry during gond with the wind or notting hill with your girl if you add in the clomid. .. you will actually bond here!
4. cycle length --- I am a big fan of a longer duration cycle in the area of 12-16 weeks as a first cycle along with the lower doses. The reason being, I agree with those that believe the body needs time to adjust to the new weight and reach a new "set point"... what is the use of using cyp and enanthate or EQ that are all drugs that take time to build up (yes, front loading helps but I do not find it as useful for a beginner as for a more experienced user and it tends to make things more complicated than they need to be.) and you only start to get really good solid gains when you hit weeks 6-8. .which is when most guys start to come off and waste those great gains they could have had thru weeks 8-12 or 16! Drugs like EQ also exert different effects that take time to reach peak levels. .ie. increased Red blood cell count = awsome pumps and vascularity
My first cycle I did 8 sustanon for 8 weeks and gained 45 lb. . .and I so wish now that I had done 16 weeks (and not used sust!) If only I had a nice board like this to go onto at that time and get all the good info:D
3. Write the whole cyle out on a big calendar (well, maybe a small one if your woman does not know you are doing the cycle; but in all honesty, tell her straight what you are up to; it will be the most beneficial thing you may do during your cycle as this issue will bite you in the ass if you are not careful! (think gear in the garbage) but I digress. .)
It really sucks to get part way thru a cycle and think. .did I take that shot the proper day etc. . .keep track!
4. GET THE STUFF IN YOUR HANDS!! how many poor new guys actually believe the guy that gets them the gear when he says "just start what I gave you and I will have the rest next week. . ." whooooaaaa! get ALL the Gear in hand before you start and if you have a source that said that; get a new one, he is probably selling you fakes as well! :mad:
5. Get your diet Sorted!. . hmmmmm, I should have put this at the start. . . a kick ass diet will make or break your cycle. . . if you don't eat like a champ you won't look like one either. .even if you bomb 1g of test a week!
Diet controls a lot of stuff that you may not think about. . .so many guys concentrate on all the drugs when in fact it is diet that controls what you put on during a cycle. The drugs just assist by speeding up the process of recovery!
Want less water retention? Control your carbs and fat levels! Excessive carbs atract water! Only then start with anti-estrogens if you need it . .excess anti-e's will only hinder your gains so keep them to a minimum.
6. Get your training right. ..and if you are still trying to figure out if free weights are better than machines or not, you need to also have a lot more training time under your belt and should not be thinking about gear.. .
remember that 45lb I put on using a measley 8 amps of sust over 8 weeks? That happened because I had already trained my body like a madman for 8 years solid before that and had a kick ass base! My body was READY!!! so if you are a gym neophite; take the time to train for at least a couple years and prime the body for your dive to the dark side. . .John romano wrote a kick as article on this subject a few issues back in MD....
RECAP of cycle:
week 1-16 400mg long acting test (enanthate, cyp)
