Maybe I judged him unfairly when he was at a low point in life or something but there was a period of about a year where he was living in north jersey (this was about 2008-2009). Everyday I would walk in the gym and everyday there was Dorian just sort of hanging around at the front desk just kinda chatting it up with anyone he could. At first I thought it was pretty cool that a legend was there just hanging out but I have to say after months of this it became a bit strange. It got to the point where even the ass kissers were running out of things to say to him. He honestly seemed down about something, I never really understood what he was doing there just remember feeling like something seemed off. I knew the owner and he wasn't paying him to be there so I have no idea wtf he was doing. One of the strangest things I've seen in a gym. First to be blown away that fucken dorian is just hanging out and then to be slowly weirded out by the situation over a period of months. Always seemed like he was waiting for someone that never showed up.

He has spoken of his personal difficulties in going from this isolated robot to being retired and not knowing what to do with himself. Seems to have found his way now though and speaks eloquently, openly and even spiritually.

A very unique person and somewhat of a people's champ imo
