I found this old thread and wanted to put things in perspective. A lot of those deaths were due to heart disease. People see this and assume steroids are to blame.
Here is a list of soccer players, all young men, who have died of heart related issues, mostly heart attack and complications from enlarged heart.

So now you might say well all these guys were athletes, so they could have all been using steroids. So lets look at the general stats.
The general public stats for heart disease (UNDER 40)- The assumption is most are non athletes. Not all resulted in death.
In Australia
For hospitalisations in the 2013 and 2014 financial year, for those aged 20 to 40:
2,100 hospitalised due to ischaemic heart disease
1,045 hospitalised for heart attack
570 hospitalised for heart failure

0.6% of 20-39 year olds have heart disease. (check out fatalities in link above)
So thats approx 1,950 000, who the majority would have probably never touched a steroid.
