He was hovering around 270 pounds in the late 80's/early 90's when he decided he wanted to compete again, so in 1991 he began training hard and by 1992 he had bulked up to 315 pounds while training for the 1992 Mr. Olympia and had gone down to 298 for the actual competition. He said he would come in even heavier in 1993 and so he beefed up to 340 pounds in the off-season and showed up on stage in 1993 at 318 pounds and should have placed much higher (at least 7th place). 5 days after the competition he was 326 pounds, but then leaned down to 298 for the 1994 Masters Olympia sure he was going to take it, but Robbie had more of a complete package than Lou. He got so discouraged that he retired after that competition and lost all of his size again.

I saw him last year when I took my son to comic con. There was nobody in line for him so we went up to him and talked for a few. I asked if we could get a picture and he said "Their $60, $80 if we wanted them signed" I said, "How about a quick one with my phone? I wont charge you anything!" He laughed and took some pictures with us.

He was very nice! I felt bad he wasn't getting any action at his booth. But they did put him across from all the Walking Dead actors...

the pink shirt one is impressive as fuck. thats the thing about someone like phil heath, yea he looks impressive on stage but i've seen pics of him in a normal shirt and you honestly cant really tell he is a bodybuilder. with a guy like lou, there was no hiding it. guy could put on the biggest coat you could find and his width would pop right out.
