  • Cop Gets Probation For Selling Steroids

Anthony Borway, a police officer with The Village of Highland Hills Police Department in Ohio, avoided prison after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors this week. Borway pleaded guilty to Possession of Drugs/Anabolic Steroids, Trafficking in Drugs/Anabolic Steroids and Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs during an appearance in Summit County Common Pleas. He was sentenced to to two years probation by Summit County Common Pleas Judge Todd McKenney on May 10, 2016.

The 34-year old cop found himself in his current situation after police received an anonymous tip last summer that Borway was a part-time steroid dealer. As a result, Borway became the target of a Summit County Drug Unit investigation.

The Summit County Drug Unit is a multi-jurisdictional task force that relies of federal funds to investigate illegal distribution of drugs including anabolic steroids. It consists of various federal, state and local law enforcement agencies including the Summit County Sheriff's Office, Summit County Prosecutor's Office, Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation, FBI, DEA, ATF, and the IRS.

Investigators from the Summit County Sheriff's Office executed the search warrant and found substantial quantities of anabolic steroids and recreational psychoactive drugs at his home on August 12, 2015. Police confiscated 18 vials of injectable steroids, several hundred oral steroid pills and a variety of prescription drugs including Oxycontin (oxycodone), hydrocodone, methadone, Opana (oxymorphone), Xanax (alprazolam) and Adderall (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine). The police also confiscated $1,130 cash, three handguns and an unspecified number of syringes/needles.

Jentle Love, a registered nurse at the Summa Hospital in Akron, lived with Borway at the time of the police raid. Love was also arrested and charged with similar steroid- and drug-related crimes. She is scheduled to appear in court next week. Given that Borway was able to avoid jail, it seems likely that Love will only receive probation as well.

18 vials and some orals? Sounds like a personal stash to me. Probably sold a couple vials to friends and got ratted out. I can't stand seeing people busted over hormones. Pisses me off.

At least he got probation; could of easily sent him to the house for a year or so to make a point.

The cop should of kept to himself and he would of been fine. Many cops take them and those that do, are very obvious looking.
