  • 6 week Dianabol study shows that...

Methandienone might be described as an anabolic but the weight gained is NOT normal muscle. They were taking 100mg of dbol everyday for 6 weeks.

    1. In a previous study of the effects of methandienone (Dianabol) on men undergoing athletic training, strength and performance increased, but not significantly more when the subjects were taking the drug than when they were taking placebo. The subjects did, however, gain more weight on the drug, with increases in total body potassium and muscle dimensions. It remained an open question whether the muscles had gained normal tissue or intracellular fluid. 2. In an attempt to distinguish between these possibilities the trial has been repeated, using as subjects seven male weight-lifters in regular training, and including measurements of total body nitrogen. As before, a dose of 100 mg of methandienone/day was given alternately with the placebo in a double-blind crossover experiment. The treatment periods lasted 6 weeks and were separated by an interval of 6 weeks. Body weight, potassium and nitrogen, muscle size, and leg performance and strength increased significantly during training on the drug, but not during the placebo period. 3. The finding of increased body nitrogen suggested that the weight gain was not only intracellular fluid. The increases in body potassium (436 +/- SEM 41 mmol) and nitrogen (255 +/- 69 g) were too large in proportion to the weight gain (2.3 +/- 0.4 kg) for this to be attributed to gain of normal muscle or other lean tissue, and imply gain of nitrogen-rich, phosphate-poor substance. Although this action of methandienone might be described as anabolic, the weight gain produced is not normal muscle.

I'm trying to wrap my head around the last part that the weight gain produced is NOT normal muscle, what does that even mean?

Yea I would think so along with mineral retention. What I'm getting is that dbol increases mineral/water retention far more than gaining actual lean muscle.

I wonder if it's saying Dbol is a shitty muscle gainer. Like if you think about it people have always talked about pissing out gains once ceased with the use of Dianabol. However some people believe that if you low dose it and run it long enough than you will gain actual lean tissue, and supposedly that's how body builders would do it in the golden era

I mean it's nothing really new here. We've always known dbol is very effective while you use it but once you drop it it's all gone.

Low dose dbol over long term would only cause longer term gains simply because it allowed you to train harder and heavier for longer. In other words the gains would come from the training not directly from the drug if that makes sense.

What if someone just used it over time as a pre work out? so take one 20 mg a day pre work out for a long term run? I would guess that you would get better pumps, better work outs but not bulk up retain all the water that's gonna go away after your done cycling it anyway. But a low dose pre work out only? I would think that wouldn't be so hard on the liver, maybe not get the water retention, yet have the strength gains for the work out to work harder...should result in some clean build on muscle over time I would think. Thoughts?

You should try it this winter and run a log.

I can tell you and have my log and pics to prove...dbol indeed causes water retention. The pics are night and day vs a drol look, and even the drol had some dbol in it....i got it tested.

Who knows, maybe a dbol/drol mix should be made....i liked that look a fucking lot:D

I agree with the water retention, that's why I was saying take only as a pre work out..only on work out days..not an actual cycle of it, just an hour or two before ya hit the gym and lift. just for the boost..energy during the work out. like taking c-4 for example..

It's still going to impact liver function and increase blood pressure rip. Stay away from strong orals would be my advice. Injectables are so much easier on the body.

To some extent i agree. Do i think someone like us older guys should run strong orals? Depends.

If labs are monitored and somone is running like 25mgs of dbol, I'm sure they'd be fine.

I don't like dbol, I was ok with it....i made it work.

I did like the constant pumps and being "full" all the time.

Rips 10 years old than you I think. He's got gout and other shit. A strong 17-aa will not be kind to him. It's a bad idea. I'm going on record for when it kills him. :D
