  • One Rep Max Formula...?

    is this still the current formula used:

    weight/(1.0278-(.0278*reps))

    by the above formula... my supposed one-rep max drops the more weight i rep. what do i have wrong?

        of course these are just formulas to provide a ballpark figure. I mean just because the formula says you can lift a certain amount it doesnt mean you can.
        a lot of things have to fall in place for you to lift your absolute max. What you eat that day, how much sleep you got the night before, when was the last time you worked the particular muscle, and most importantly what state of mind you are in.

            ONe rep max formulas can be helpful but the more reps you do the less accurate they are going to be due to the use of different energy systems. . .a true one rep max effort is pure anaerobic power. . .the more reps you add other energy systems kick in and it squews the results.
