  • Can you overtrain while using?

During my last cycle (my first) I did double split workouts 3days on 1 day off.

    Is this a bad idea?

It is always possible to overtrain. I can't really tell you if you were overtraining or not as I dont know what your doing as far as sets and reps go. With overtraining I think everyone has to be there own judge through trial and error. I think the split you listed wouldn't be bad to hit for a couple of weeks but I wouldn't stick with it the whole way out.

Thanks. I certainly had the energy, but now I'm not sure it was the best idea.

I'm on the same page as LMG...it is always possible to over train.

Only YOU can really tell wether or not you are giving your body adequate rest.

This is a topic that most BB's will be 50/50 on.

The split workout may not be a bad idea to run the whole way through if you are changing your excercises during the process.

Again...it's a tough call. Only YOU will know.

By the way...I know guys who work out until they puke....EVERYTIME!!

          That...might be considered overtrianing.

Twice per week training schedules will over train most, if you use them for extended periods. It is possible to overtrain no matter what you are using.

I've always had my best growth training each bodypart only once every 7 days.

training till you puke= working out hard, not overtrianing, ic an make you puke in 5 mintues of working out thats far from overtraining tehy are probably jsut using alot of anaerobic threshold puking is how you know your really working hard

overtraining means training too hard *too often* and not giving your body time to recover and build in between. by exhausting your natural resources, you never see any results and end up chronically drained and injury-prone. if someone can train til they puke and recover in time for their next workout, they aren't overtraining.

anyone wanna correct me, go right ahead.

I guess it depends on the person and how your body responds. For bulking I train 3 days on 2 days off....been doing it for years and I make excellent progress.
during my on cycle 2 days off feels like an eternity.

read the book "The Stress of Life" by Hans Seyle- it explains the horomonal reactions your body has to stress (which any type of exercise is) and what happens as the stress increases. you can trick your body with steroids for awhile but it will still catch up with you eventually. steroids also mask the signs sometimes, so you may think you can go all day and all night in the gym but you will crash eventually. that is why you should have a good idea of your limitations before you start juicing so you will know when to back off and when to hit it hard.

Your CNS is very easy to overtrain on or off gear. If your not taking sets to failure, bodyparts can be worked mulitple times per week
