    LORDBLiTZ You said :

You couldn't buy the chems to make the raw.
and i responded you can make any organic compound just from stone... you didn't say you can't make them. i just commented.

What makes me not able to read???? The fact i reminded a thing most probably ignote to the vast majority?

LOL, if you can make the organic chemicals from stone, you are a better chemist than I am. In fact, you are better than anyone else in the world.

You can get acetylene from CaCO3 if i remember well. Treat some stones, get the gas and start building your organic molecules piece by piece. I know it is a pain to do 25 reactions to arrive to test. but as i said before it was just a comment.

              Lol. Nice work bro.

Synthisizing test is a pain in the a$$. You can start with cholesterol, or a PH of your choice in theory. I have yet to get it to actually work. I have pretty decent chem skills but am by no means as knowledgable as Spidey. If he says something is difficult, that means it's impossible for the rest of us.;)

Anyone can do the MnO2 oxidations. They are pretty much impossible to screw up, LOL.

Just mix the diol prohormone of your choice (must have either a 1,2 or a 4,5 double bond or both) with 5x by weight of MnO2 in dichloromethane and stirr for 24 hours. Filter off the MnO2; evaporate the dichloromethane and presto, you have it.

I'll try that soon. I have about 50g MnO2 now. Just have to find a way to get the dimethylchloride. I gotta slow down on ordering at work.

other solvents will work as well that are available for the public, like acetone, ethanol (I think dry), MEK (methyl ethyl ketone, or 2 butanone), benzene (but you don't wanna use that), toluene etc.

Put your mixture inside a heavy walled flask or bottle with a screw cap, and heat it up in a pan with water and a thermometer just above the boiling point of your solvent (say 2 deg). This will cause some pressure, but your bottle is strong, so it can resist. You can poor some veggie oil on the water in the pan to minimise vaporising. This is a setup for the ones without a reflux condensor. Boil for at least 4 hours, depending on the boiling point of your solvent, the higher the BP the shorter the reaction takes. Filter with some good filtration paper (not a coffee filter). The MnO2 particles are really small. After filtration, rinse the MnO2 with the same solvent type you used and filter again to get the last residues of test.

Candle25, you mean dichloromethane? This has a very low BP (37 C), you are better off with acetone or ethanol.

Woops. Yeah I meant dichloromethane. I have a great reflux set up, but no sand bath. I suppose I could put sand in a deep pan and heat it on the oven with the round flask nested in it....damn. I just realized that my sink isn't set up to run the cool water through the reflux tube. I guess I need to buy some more supplies. I've really slacked off with my synthisis experiments lately. I honestly have no need of doing it, I just do it for fun. I'll play around some more soon.
