Why is it necessary to stack?

Say I just wanted to run a cycle of Dbol and Nolva for safety reasons. Why do some guys and gals add Test or Deca or this and that? I'm new and learning

Using test along with other AS will solidify your gains making them easier to keep after you're done cycling.
