  • MRI results on shoulder

Slight amount of fluid within the subdeltoid bursa is nonspecific. Bursitis is not excluded.
No evidence of tear of the rotator cuff tendons or qlenoid labrum
Slight or mild rotator cuff tendinopathy.

Doc said rest it for couple more weeks. Got anti-inflammotorys but have been on them for months, they don't do shit. Gonna start deca and one shot of test in two weeks but go light. I Want to see if the deca may help pain. He didn't want to give me a cortisone shot because he said he does not want to damage it in long run plus he thinks I'm too young right now.

You might try some glucosamine+chondroitin+ MSM. I do for my knee and find it works better than the anti-inflamatories w/out the stomach troubles. I also take SAM-e which supposedly helps joints.

Give those tendons a chance to heal.

If you are having tendon problems, DO NOT take anti-inflammatories....they actually slow down the healing process.

Basically what he's saying is that he doesn't know what the hell the problem is. Having had cortisone injections in each elbow, and a torn rotator cuff, I must agree with the glucosamine/chondroiten/msm combo. Damn sure worth a try but give it a FULL 6 weeks of daily usage before you give up on it. Takes a while for most people to notice the initial effects, but it does work for most folks with joint related pain, myself included.

i tore my rotator cuff totally, and shattered the head of my humerus, as well as cracked the socket itself... docs were talking about replacing my shoulder with a plastic/steel one.. but the after a 2nd specialist saw me they decided to leave it for 4 weeks and see if it;'s gonna heal on its own... if yes good for me, and if not the chunks of the bone will have dissolved by then, so then they will cut a piece of my hip bone and try make a new ball/socket with it..... or some shit like that... he didnt want to send me for an mri..... nor do any kind of surgery now (like reapair the cuff) nothing.....
is that normal? the usual procedure?
i'll try get a 3rd specialist to take a look at it next week... its been 2 weeks now and it still hurts like shit... i cant move my arm a milimeter...

I live here in T.O Canada......I went to see one of the best sports medicine docs around.....got my MRI done, he said I have arthritus in the AC joint of my left shoulder, aslo said I have an impingment of the shoulder. He prescribed my anti-I's called Meloxicam, very cool shit all problems are gone with the arthritus however, I still have problems with my range of motion. It seems like my bicep tendon is really fuckin' tight, it tends to pull my shoulder foward...also where my shoulder ties into my pec it seems very tight there as well? It feels like the only thing holding my shoulder in socket is the muscle? Does anyone think that this could still be a rotator cuff problem? Anyone have any input on this, what can I do? Does Active Release THerapy help?

THere was no indication in the MRI that the long bicep tendon had damage? Have it checked again.
